Our Leadership
Jonathan Sheppard, President & CEO, is a legal recruiter, workforce advisor, speaker and podcast host with more than four decades of experience helping professionals and organizations navigate talent, leadership and workplace challenges.
Through J. Sheppard Associates, Jon works closely with attorneys, partners, law firms, corporations and business leaders on critical hiring, career and organizational decisions. His approach has always been rooted in relationships, trust, responsiveness and a deep understanding of the people behind the business.
A Career Built Around People
Throughout his career, Jon has developed a deep understanding of what makes professional relationships and organizations work. His experience spans attorney and executive search, client development, talent strategy, leadership and organizational communication.
Decades of conversations with professionals at every stage of their careers also gave Jon a front-row view into the changing workplace. He saw firsthand how differences in communication styles, expectations, leadership approaches and attitudes toward work could create friction between generations. He also saw how much stronger organizations could become when those differences were understood and managed effectively.
Expanding the Conversation
That work also inspired The Generationality of Work, our podcast exploring leadership, culture, mentorship, technology, talent and the evolving workplace through conversations with leaders across industries through the generational lens.
The podcast gives us another way to examine the issues shaping today’s workforce while sharing practical perspectives from people who are leading, building, hiring, mentoring and managing across generations.
Relationships at the Center
Whether Jon is helping an attorney make an important career move, advising a firm on a critical search, speaking with an organization about its multigenerational workforce or sitting down with a guest on the podcast, the same philosophy guides his work:
Strong relationships create stronger organizations.
