Relationships have always been at the center of J. Sheppard Associates.
For more than two decades, JSA has helped attorneys, law firms, companies and business leaders navigate consequential career and talent decisions. What began as a relationship-driven legal search practice has evolved alongside the workplace itself.
Today, JSA works across two interconnected areas: Attorney Search and Multigenerational Workforce Advisory. Through our search practice, we represent attorneys and professionals pursuing new opportunities while helping law firms and companies identify the talent they need to grow.
Evolving With the Workplace
Our advisory work grew naturally from decades of conversations with candidates, partners, executives and firm leaders. Again and again, we saw that some of the greatest challenges organizations face are not technical. They are human.
Different generations bring different expectations, communication styles, experiences and perspectives to work. When those differences are misunderstood, they can create friction. When they are understood and managed effectively, they can become a source of strength.
Through speaking engagements, facilitated conversations, workshops and ongoing advisory relationships, we help organizations improve communication, collaboration, accountability, retention, leadership and overall business performance.

That work also inspired The Generationality of Work, our podcast exploring leadership, culture, mentorship, technology, talent and the evolving workplace through conversations with leaders across industries through the generational lens.
The podcast gives us another way to examine the issues shaping today’s workforce while sharing practical perspectives from people who are leading, building, hiring, mentoring and managing across generations.
