A powerhouse Employee Benefits practice group of an international law firm based in NYC, is seeking an associate with one to five (1-5) years’ experience in executive compensation and employee benefits matters, including executive compensation plans and programs, employment agreements, and the securities law aspects of compensation and benefits, supporting large M&A transactions. Preferred experience in a Big Law firm.
Ideal candidate will perform due diligence as well as draft employee benefit and executive compensation plans and arrangements and related sections of M&A transaction documents. Communicate and correspond with colleagues, clients and other counsel. Must have ability to perform legal research primarily in Employee Benefits law. An ability to use library reference materials and/or electronic resource tools is required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others; ability to communicate effectively by written word and oral presentation. Strong abilities to organize and prioritize workload is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, WORD, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Compensation includes salary (210K-275K) , potential bonus and excellent benefits. Bachelor’s and JD degrees are both required. Must be admitted to practice law in the state of NY. Transcript and writing must accompany any resume submission.
