A busy commercial litigation group at a progressive midsize firm handling securities litigation and complex business disputes, is seeking an associate with two or more years of commercial litigation experience to join its team. The group represents closely held businesses, financial services executives, and institutional clients in disputes and investigations across federal and state jurisdictions.
The Associate will work directly with partners, and others, and will take on substantive responsibility in commercial disputes, securities related litigation, and regulatory or investigative matters. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing discovery, preparing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, conducting legal research and analysis, and appearing at court conferences and hearings.
The ideal candidate will have developed litigation experience in a busy litigation boutique or within the litigation group of a midsize firm, where they have gained meaningful hands on exposure to complex matters. Superior writing ability, strong critical thinking skills, and sound judgment are required. Admission to the New York Bar in good standing is required.
Compensation includes salary ($195K to $230K+) plus generous bonus and an excellent benefits package. The practice is a multigenerational litigation group ranging from senior partners through first year associates, providing a strong and collaborative team environment in which the right associate can continue to develop their litigation practice.
